Privacy Policy for ExamPrep.AI

1. Information We Collect

• Account information: Name, email address, and role (parent or student).
• Study information: Your chosen exam board, curriculum, level, subjects, exam dates, and study timetable. AI-generated study plans, completed topics, and test results.
• Usage data: Device type, operating system, and app interaction data for improving the service.
• Push notification tokens: Required to deliver in-app notifications.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the study planning service and generate personalised plans
• To sync data across your devices
• To enable parent-child account linking (with explicit consent)
• To send notifications about study reminders, exam countdowns, and account activity
• To improve the App's functionality and AI accuracy

3. AI and Third-Party Services

We use OpenAI's API to generate study plans, practice tasks, and test questions. Study-related information (subject, exam board, spec points) is shared with OpenAI for content generation. OpenAI does not retain this data for training purposes.

We use Supabase for authentication and data storage, and RevenueCat for subscription management.

4. Parent-Child Account Linking

Parents can create child accounts or request to link existing ones. Linked parents can view their child's study plan, tasks, and exam countdowns. Parents cannot access personal messages, login credentials, or mark tasks as complete on behalf of their child. Children can approve or decline link requests at any time. Either party may request to unlink, which requires approval from the other before taking effect.

5. Data Storage and Security

Your data is stored on secure servers (Supabase, hosted in the Asia). We use industry-standard encryption for data in transit and at rest. For users in the UK and EU, data transfers outside these regions are protected by Supabase's Standard Contractual Clauses, in accordance with GDPR requirements.

6. Children's Privacy

ExamPrep.AI is designed for students aged 13 and over preparing for GCSE, A-Level, IB, and equivalent qualifications. If we become aware that a user under 13 has signed up, we will delete the account.

Parents creating child accounts confirm they have authority to do so on behalf of their child.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account and associated data
• Withdraw consent for data processing
• Export your data

8. Data Retention

We retain your data while your account is active. If you delete your account, your data will be removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

9. Subscriptions

Premium subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We do not receive your payment information — it is handled entirely by Apple/Google.

10. Push Notifications

We send push notifications for study reminders, exam countdowns, parent link requests, and topic completion results. You can disable notifications at any time through your device settings or in-app under Settings → Notifications.

11. Cookies and Tracking

ExamPrep.AI does not use cookies or third-party tracking. We do not share data with advertisers and do not track users across other apps or websites.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy occasionally. Material changes will be notified in-app or by email. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.
